As the area is government-protected, special permits are required to trek this route. The region is not only culturally rich but also boasts remarkable biological diversity. Day 1 – Drive to Arughat (535m / 1,754 ft, 5–6 hrs)
Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat, the starting point of your trek, passing through scenic rural landscapes.

Day 2 – Trek to Labu Besi (880m / 2,886 ft, 4–5 hrs)
Begin your trek through lush forests and terraced fields, reaching the village of Labu Besi.

Day 3 – Trek to Khola Besi (970m / 3,181 ft, 5 hrs)
Continue along the trail, crossing streams and enjoying the serene Marsyangdi River valley, arriving at Khola Besi.

Day 4 – Trek to Jagat (1,440m / 4,723 ft, 6 hrs)
Trek through small villages and local settlements, witnessing traditional rural life before reaching Jagat.

Day 5 – Trek to Nyak (2,300m / 7,544 ft, 6 hrs)
Ascend gradually along the valley, passing beautiful forests and hillsides, reaching Nyak village.

Day 6 – Trek to Ghap (2,110m / 6,920 ft, 5 hrs)
Trek through scenic landscapes and charming villages, arriving at Ghap for an overnight stay.

Day 7 – Trek to Lho (3,180m / 10,430 ft, 6 hrs)
Continue ascending to Lho, surrounded by Himalayan vistas and traditional Gurung villages.

Day 8 – Trek to Samagaun (3,530m / 11,578 ft, 3–4 hrs)
A shorter day of trekking brings you to Samagaun, a picturesque village with stunning mountain views.

Day 9 – Trek to Samdo (3,900m / 12,792 ft, 3 hrs)
Trek to Samdo, an entry point to the high Himalayas and the Tsum Valley region.

Day 10 – Rest Day
Acclimatization day in Samdo, with optional short hikes and exploration of the surrounding area.

Day 11 – Trek to Larkya Refuge (4,200m / 13,776 ft, 4 hrs)
Trek further into the high Himalayas, preparing for the challenging Larkya La Pass.

Day 12 – Trek over Larkya La (5,212m) to Bimtang (3,720m / 12,201 ft, 10–12 hrs)
Cross the spectacular Larkya La Pass, one of the most breathtaking Himalayan passes, before descending to Bimtang.

Day 13 – Trek to Tilche (2,240m / 7,347 ft, 6 hrs)
Begin your descent through scenic landscapes, arriving at the village of Tilche.

Day 14 – Trek to Chamje (1,430m / 4,690 ft, 5 hrs)
Continue descending through forests and terraced farmlands, reaching Chamje.

Day 15 – Trek to Bhulbule (840m / 2,755 ft, 5 hrs)

Day 16 – Trek to Besi Sahar (840m / 2,755 ft, 4 hrs)
Complete the final day of trekking to Besi Sahar, the gateway to motorable roads.

Day 17 – Drive to Kathmandu (6 hrs)

Permits & Fees

  • Manaslu & Tsum Valley Special Trekking Permit: USD 90 per week per person (off-season) / USD 70 per week per person (spring).

  • Manaslu Conservation Area Entry Fee: NPR 2,000 per person

  • Annapurna Conservation Area Entry Fee: NPR 2,000 per person
