The Poon Hill Trek, also known as the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, is a classic Himalayan adventure in the Annapurna region. Renowned for its spectacular sunrise panorama from Poon Hill (3,210 m), this trek provides stunning views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Nilgiri.
The trail winds through lush rhododendron forests, stone-paved staircases, and traditional Gurung and Magar villages such as Ghandruk and Ghorepani. Along the way, trekkers experience warm local hospitality, terraced farmland, and vibrant cultural traditions.
With moderate altitude and comfortable tea house accommodation, the Poon Hill Trek is suitable for beginners, families, and first-time trekkers. Despite its short duration, the trek delivers one of the most rewarding Himalayan experiences in Nepal.
